Frank Baldock

 

Award-winning journalist Frank is an international wine writer and educator, judge and consultant, and three times President of the Wine Writers’ Circle of Canada. (He also has a keen sense of humor and a nose for value!). A respected commentator and supporter of Canada’s vibrant young wine industry, Frank’s  tasting and writing have covered its amazing evolution for over 35 years.

As a lifelong foodie and Features Editor of Canadian Living, he helped launch the magazine FOOD, a short-lived but glorious Canadian magazine equivalent to Bon Appetit. As Executive Editor of TV Guide, Canada's largest magazine, Frank introduced Wine, Food and Sports content to improve its 800,000 weekly circulation.

As the Consulting Editor, he helped launch Metro, the 180,000-circulation free daily in Toronto’s newspaper wars. At Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, Frank launched the award-winning flagship business magazine Challenges. At Tele-media Publishing, Frank developed new magazines from concept to launch. In nine years at the Toronto Star, as well as Wine Columnist, he was a Senior Editor on the National Desk, Foreign Desk, and the Business and Entertainment departments. His newspaper career spans the Montreal Star, Toronto Telegram, the Calgary Albertan, as crime reporter, and the Sheffield Star.
